- come into Kendal
- in one way system about quarter of a mile keep in left lane
- Turn left at Traffic Lights sign posted Underbarrow
- At the cross roads turn left sign posted Underbarrow (Gillingate)
- 3 miles from here to sign for Tranthwaite Hall
- right hand side last farm house up this lane.
- If you go past The Punchbowl you have gone too far
- Turn off the M6 at junction 39 (Shap)
- Follow the A6 until you arrive in Kendal
- You will come into the one way system at a pedestrian crossing and lights
- Keep in the LEFT hand lane over the bridge follow the road round in the LEFT lane until you cross another bridge
- After crossing the river change into the RIGHT lane
- Follow this route until you come to another river bridge, turning right over it, ekeeping in the RIGHT lane
- Once over the bridge, move to the LEFT lane, until you come to a crossing
- Turn immediately LEFT after the lights, (Signed Underbarrow) into Gillingate
